Beijing Institute of Technology, waste plastics technology passed the acceptance test

The research project titled "Exploration of Waste Plastics and Rubber Utilization Technologies," led by a professor from the Department of Civil Engineering at Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, has recently passed the evaluation of scientific and technological achievements organized by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission. This groundbreaking achievement not only secured a national invention patent but also earned the prestigious 51st "Eureka World Invention Fair Gold Award." The innovative technology focuses on transforming what are commonly known as "white pollutants"—waste plastics and rubbers—into valuable resources for producing adhesive products applicable in architectural decoration and construction. Despite their previous harmful reputation to both human health and the environment, this project has successfully turned these materials into safe and efficient solutions. The civil engineering department at Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture has developed several cutting-edge products using recycled plastics, including fast-adhesive, quick-drying silver paint, quick-drying gold paint, and quick-drying exterior wall paints. These products underwent rigorous testing by national authorities, which confirmed their outstanding technical performance and environmental compliance. The results demonstrated that these products offer superior performance-to-price ratios, with simple production processes and minimal equipment maintenance requirements. Moreover, the project's equipment boasts unique advantages such as low initial investment and rapid returns on investment. The potential market for these products is vast, and their widespread adoption could significantly contribute to environmental sustainability while providing economic benefits. This breakthrough signifies a major step forward in sustainable development, offering practical solutions for reducing plastic waste while creating high-quality, eco-friendly building materials. As the world continues to grapple with the challenges of pollution, this project exemplifies how innovative thinking can transform waste into wealth, paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.
