Medieval Pearl Exhibition looking for historic pearls

Throughout the world, natural pearls have always been regarded as a symbol of beauty. From civilian women to royal aristocrats, almost no one can resist the charm of pearls. According to the British "Daily Mail" report, recently, the famous V&A Art Museum will hold the exhibition pearl exhibition and publicly display the long-established pearl jewelry collection.

It is reported that there are 200 pieces of pearl jewellery on display, including the pearl earrings worn by Charles I in 1649 when they were sent to the guillotine, and the pearl necklaces worn by Marilyn Monroe. In addition, there are some from ancient Rome. The ancient Greek and Persian pearls are very historical and very precious.

In the late Middle Ages, pearls were seen as symbols of Christianity, representing purity and chastity. But during the Renaissance, pearls gradually lost their religious meaning, and they were regarded as a precious accessory, which was loved by the nobility. Even the most noble Queen of England was a beloved of pearls.

In addition, these exhibits include a string of chic pearl necklaces, a luxurious diamond and pearl headwear, and a gorgeous embroidered coat worn by an Indian monarch.

But at this exhibition, not only pearls were exhibited, but also oil paintings and portraits about the aristocrats and wealthy businessmen.
