Printing and Dyeing Tips│Application of Tea Saponin in Pretreatment of Cotton and Tencel/Cotton Fabrics 【Pretreatment Auxiliary Application】

Tea saponin (also known as tea saponin) is a type of pentacyclic triterpenoid saponins extracted from the seeds or leaves of Camellia plants, and it is also a natural non-ionic surfactant with excellent properties. It has good emulsification properties. , dispersion, foaming, and infiltration capabilities, Bu Gong Tea Saponin is a high-shear dispersion and homogenization method for natural tea saponin modified, and added bleaching components (such as peroxide) prepared as cotton and It is a special pretreating agent for blended fabrics, which can quickly remove grease, wax and other impurities in cotton fiber to achieve efficient short-flow pretreatment. This paper deals with the pretreatment of tea saponin in cotton and Tencel/cotton fabrics. The application process is optimized to explore the main factors affecting the quality of semi-finished products.

2 sample test and result analysis

2.1 The comparison of the properties of tea saponin and multifunctional scouring enzyme

2.1.1 Solution PH

From Table 1, it is known that the value of tea saponin solution is significantly lower than that of multifunctional scouring enzyme, and it is always stable at 11-12. Relatively gentle action conditions can reduce the damage of regenerated cellulose fiber during scouring, and at the same time, Alkaline liquid is low, can reduce the printing and dyeing wastewater treatment.

According to Table 2, the standard canvas for tea saponin has a settling time of only ten seconds and its wetting performance is significantly better than that of the multifunctional scouring enzyme. This is advantageous for the rolling and steaming method. Therefore, when the tea saponin is used for the pretreatment of the steaming method, , The working fluid does not need to add penetrant, but before the multi-functional scouring enzyme pretreatment, it needs to add appropriate amount of surfactant to promote the wetting of the fabric to ensure the amount of liquid and the homogenization. In addition, the room temperature (about 15 degrees during the test Under the condition of standard conditions, the settling speed of standard canvas is relatively slow, and the speed of sedimentation is the fastest at 30-40 degrees. With the increase of temperature, the sedimentation speed will be reduced. This may be due to the settlement of fabrics by hot air after the working fluid temperature increases. Produce some resistance.

2.2 Tea Saponin Application Process Optimization

The main factors influencing the quality of textiles' semi-finished products are the amount of tea saponin, steaming time and temperature, etc. Taking into account the existing equipment conditions of the factory, the steaming temperature is set at 100 degrees, and the pretreatment process of tea saponin is determined through the horizontal test'

2.2.1 Steaming time

Figure 1 shows that when steamed at 20 degrees, the hairiness of Tencel/cotton fabric can reach 10.5cm/30min, and the whiteness reaches 76.22%, because the raw materials of the product are combed cotton and regenerated cellulose fibers. Less miscellaneous. When steaming for 40 minutes, the whiteness and gross effect basically reach the highest level, and the strong damage is also small. If the steaming time is continued to be extended, the whiteness and the gross effect increase little, but the strong damage is obviously increased. Considering that the selection of steam time for the TENCEL/CLOTHING FABRIC is 30~40min. After the steaming time exceeds 45 min, the whiteness of the cotton khaki has not changed much, but only when the steaming exceeds 60min, the gross effect can basically reach half. Product quality requirements

2.2.2 Tea saponin dosage

Figure 2 shows that with the increase of the amount of tea saponin, the whiteness and the gross effect of the fabric are gradually improved. When the amount of tea saponin reaches 40 g/L and 50 min respectively, the hairiness and whiteness of TENCEL/Cotton and cotton khaki have reached The highest, but the fabric strength is reduced with the increase in the amount of tea saponin, and the damage of Texon cotton fabric is much larger than that of cotton. Comprehensive consideration, determine the amount of tea saponin TENCEL/cotton fabric for 30 ~ 40g /L cotton cassia tea saponin dosage is 50~60

2.2.3 The amount of caustic soda

The amount of tea saponin and the steaming time test showed that the treatment effect of cotton khaki was not ideal, especially for the use of tea saponin products based on the application of the tea saponin product. Comprehensive considerations were used to determine the amount of tea saponin used was 50 g/L. For a time of 60 min, add different amounts of caustic soda for one-bath test. The results are shown in Table 3'.

QQ screenshot 20151116151204

According to Table 3, the whiteness of the fabric after alkali addition is greatly reduced, and it is only maintained at a relatively low level. The reason is that the tea saponin is not alkali-resistant, and the oxidized components are decomposed under alkaline conditions; secondly, after the alkali is added, the fabric is There is no significant increase in efficiency. It can be seen that tea saponin should not be used together with alkali bath.

2.3 Gray cloth pretreatment

Considering that the cotton khaki fabric contains a lot of impurities, the handle is hard, and the liquid is difficult to infiltrate, it is planned to conduct tests from the aspects of padding method, leaching temperature and pretreatment, and the specific process: pretreatment (detergent 2g/L, 80~85 Degree, a dip a milk, dipping 30S, the rate of padding padding working fluid (room temperature or 60 degrees, two dip two rolling, the first time the liquid rate is 60% to 65%, the second emulsion rate is 100% ~110%, test plan and results are shown in Table 4

QQ screenshot 20151116151226

From Table 4, it can be seen that the second dip and the second rolling make the permeation of the liquid even, which is beneficial to improve the hairiness and whiteness. Moreover, the gray cloth is pretreated by the detergent to promote the swelling of the pulp and fiber, which helps to improve the effect of boiling and rinsing. In addition, the use of 60-degree padding liquid is not good for both hairiness and whiteness. The reason is that the heat-resistant stability of tea saponin is not good. Therefore, the padding working fluid should be at room temperature, and should be used with it.

3, comparison of lofting

One-bath best process of Tencel/cotton cross-fabric and cotton khaki tea saponin was compared with a multi-functional scouring enzyme and hydrogen peroxide one-bath pretreatment process. The results are shown in Table 5.

QQ screenshot 20151116151244

It can be seen from Table 5 that the quality of the semi-finished TENCEL/Cotton fabric, tea saponin process is better than that of the multi-functional scouring enzyme and the H2O 2 bathing process, especially the semi-product quality of the fabric with less damage and the cotton khaki. 2 The method is quite similar, in which the multi-functional scouring enzyme and hydrogen peroxide one-bath process are relatively good, but all can reach the requirements for dyeing after printing.

4 conclusions

1) Pre-treatment optimization technology of Bugong tea saponin: Tencel/cotton fabric padding working solution < tea saponin 30 ~ 40g/L, room temperature, one dip and one roll, emulsion rate 100% ~ 110% steam steam <100 ~102 degrees, 30 minutes-hot water washing <85-90 degrees, 3 times)-cold water washing (2 times-drying; pretreatment of cotton yarn card (2 g/L of detergent, 80-85 degrees, multiple dipping and rolling, rolling Liquid rate 60%~65%—Immersion working solution < tea saponin 50~60g/L at room temperature, multiple leaching and second rolling, the first emulsion rate is 60%~65%, the second time liquid film rate is 100%~ 1109% - steaming 100 ~ 102 degrees, 60min) - hot water (85 ~ 90 degrees, 3 times) - cold water wash 2 times - drying.

2) When Bugong tea saponin is used in the pretreatment of cotton and its blended fabrics, it is not necessary to add other auxiliaries in the working fluid. The operation is simple, the fabric damage is small, and the alkalinity of the wastewater is low, especially in Tencel/cotton. The advantage of pre-treatment of interwoven products is more obvious, and the effect is gentle and safe. One-step rolling and steaming method can avoid the defects such as wrinkles, weft and fibrillation caused by multi-unit rolling, steaming, and washing, which is beneficial to improve first-class products. rate'

(3) Bugong tea saponin is used for medium and thick cotton fabrics, especially low grade cotton with more impurities. It should be properly pretreated to ensure the quality of semi-finished products. It should not be used together with caustic soda and the storage stability needs to be improved.
